17th Michigan Vol. Infantry
The 17th is the oldest Civil War reenacting unit in Michigan,having been formed in 1972. The unit participates in 12 to 15 Civil War related events per year, and is responsible for placing various state markers around the country, the last in 1997, at Spotsylvania Battlefield, VI. We welcome men and women who wish to bring history to life in an accurate and authentic manner.

Great Lakes Clipper Preservation Association
A very important piece of Michigan's history, the 93-year-old SS MILWAUKEE CLIPPER was brought back to Muskegon by the GLCPA (Great Lakes Clipper Preservation Association), a nonprofit group. The GLCPA plans to restore and preserve the ship with the help of volunteers and donations. Once the work begins, the ship will be used a a maritime museum, learning center, and restaurant.
